In
a clean room, the acrylic monomer is poured and mixed with resin to
the correct consistency (Figure 1). The mixture is then poured into
a mold where it is left to set, an object is then placed inside, and
more material is poured around the object until it is completely encapsulated
(Figure 2).
The mix is then place in a pressurized state-of-the-art oven and
allowed to harden overnight.
When removed from the molds, the pieces are rough
and jagged (Figure 3). Through a series of several operations of
sawing, routing and sanding, the shape of the piece finally emerges
(Figure 4). It is then hand polished to a shiny luster clean and
packed (Figure 5).
